LYNCHING’S: 1916-1981

The NAACP advocated for social reforms such as anti-lynching laws. in an article, “Waco Horrors” that exposed a lynching that took place in Waco, Texas of a young black boy name Jesse Washington.

 

 

1955, a young black boy by the name of Emmett Till was lynched by a mob. Click on link below.

This 14 year old boy was accused of assaulting’s a white women. While sleeping quietly in his bed, in the middle of the night he was kidnapped and lynched to death. When his accuser were tired in court, they were acquitted of all charges by an all white jury.
